Having a needy young foal around the 'farm' was harder than AJ wanted to admit, but losing sleep for over a week was enough to push her over the edge. Nurse mares were few and far between; let alone one tall enough for the behemoth shire colt. A fortnight later someone answered an ad on the town bulletin offering a creamy splash mare who'd recently lost a foal. It was almost too good to be true - a gypsy cob mare the breeder was all but too willing to give away.
Less than an hour watching the mare on the farm quickly revealed why; the poor thing was as deaf as a post. But she didn't spook as Will went to nurse again; always watching where the foal she'd adopted as her own was, and he was big enough to not be hurt by the mare swinging her head to find him. The owner took off before AJ could change her mind; not that she intended to.
Willpower's Condition: Will jumps at the sound of a door slamming or the rattle of a lead rope, but has taken to his new mummy mare surprisingly well. He's a needy little thing and Mouse is more than happy to give him the attention he needs.
